Networked Engineering Design Projects – PhD Presentation

Presentations November 23, 2012 8:48 pm

As it happens with PhD projects some ideas evolve, others simply change and to keep sufficient focus quite a few are discarded. In order to update the current PhD status please find below a short description and the last slides presented at an internal seminar in my research group at DTU Management Engineering. If you have any questions or ideas please get in touch!

Project Description

The main goal of this research project is to describe, analyse and support collaborative product development activities, in particular inter-organisational co-design. The research approach utilises network analysis techniques with the purpose of facilitating complexity management.

In this context, an important aspect is the study of the networks that describes the communication, dependencies and interactions between the team members of the project. The analysis and visualisation of these networks can be used as an enabler to improve the reflective practice of design in complex engineering environments.
